Former WBO middleweight champion of the world returns to action this weekend in a quick run out to keep him busy before the year is out.
Its been a year to forget for the former champion who was forced to vacate his title earlier this year following a highly controversial, alleged failed drugs test before a scheduled fight with Demetrius Andrade in Boston.
Andrade since went on to capture the vacant title.
Saunders will return in a low key fight this weekend on the Warrington vs Frampton world title show in Manchester in a non title fight where it is understood he did not have to make any particular weight.
That said, he’s come in quite a bit over his usual limit of middleweight (160lbs) as he weighed in
178.5lbs against replacement opponent Charles Adamu who came in at 173.2lbs.
Saunders will be closer to the cruiserweight limit tomorrow night than his normal middleweight limit but will be hoping to salvage some positives this weekend after another frustrating year.
