Freddie Roach on How Manny Pacquiao Does With The Top Welterweights At Late Stage Of His Career

Former trainer to Manny Pacquiao, Freddie Roach might not train the Filipino boxing legend anymore but still speaks very highly of him.

A rarity usually in boxing when it comes to those whom have parted company with one another.

But, these two achieved as much as any fighter and coach combination in history.

o this day, Manny Pacquiao is the only eight-weight world champion in the history of boxing.

Speaking to Blue Blood Sports former Pacquiao coach Freddie Roach said:

“Well it would be a good challenge (fighting the PBC welterweights). At one time he would have walked through all of them but he’s getting a little bit older now. But we’ll see. He did look good in his last fight (Matthysse) though. I did watch his last fight. I was very happy. He was very good. I thought he fought a great fight.”

He added:

“His work ethic is still unbelievable. He works very hard everyday. With the work ethic he has I give him a chance with anyone out there.”

The above was referring to how Pacquiao would fair with most of Al Haymon / Premier Boxing Champion’s top welterweights in the form of Shawn Porter, Errol Spence, Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia.

Pacquiao at this time is expected to take on Adrien Broner next up in January.
