Farmer v Tennyson: Is The IBF Champion Overlooking A Dangerous Irish Foe?

farmer v tennyson

Farmer v Tennyson is the co-main event this weekend at the TD Garden Arena in Boston and ahead of the fight there’s been a lot of talk about Tevin Farmer vs Gervonta Davis in the future. James Tennyson should not be overlooked. At all.

25-year-old Belfast super-featherweight title challenger Tennyson (22-2-18KO) has rattled off six wins on the bounce since his last loss to Ryan Walsh in 2016.

The last five of them coming by stoppage too.

A man who has paid his dues the hard way, he’ll be chomping at the bit in his IBF world title challenge this weekend.

Tevin Farmer (26-4-1-5KO), the champion won the belt by unanimous decision in Australia last time out after his original tilt at the belt before that ended in a no contest.

Both men have been put down and stopped in their careers but it’s Tenyson who possess the ability to close the show by knockout more than the champion from Philadelphia.

While Farmer might be the favorite going into the fight, many in the trade believe the challenger has more than what it takes to spring an upset and land a decisive blow to halt the contest inside the distance.

Farmer has been going back and forth with Gervonta Davis on Twitter a lot recently, he can’t afford to overlook someone like James Tennyson this weekend.
