Mikey Garcia had been in line for a fight with Manny Pacquiao for quite some time but it will not be the case next up at least.
The undefeated boxing star has been wooing crowds in America over the past few years with his blinding speed, power and skill.
A humble, down to Earth fighter, Garcia trains under Robert Garcia in Oxnard California and his next opponent has now revealed the details on Twitter of who he is:
My contract to fight @mikeygarcia is signed, sealed and delivered and I hope he’s done the same as I can’t wait to win the @WBCBoxing and @IBFUSBAboxing lightweight titles! @loudibella @KBouhairie @BoxingGhana @BernieBahrmasel @evansss @Mickey_Moo @Everlast_ @SteveFarhood
— Richard Commey (@RichardCommey) October 18, 2018
With contracts signed on Commey’s end it is just a matter of time before Garcia signs his side you’d imagine later today and the fight is formally put together regarding date and venue.
A quality fight, too.
Commey is a big puncher from Ghana and will only have one thing on his mind when he steps in there with Garcia – knocking him out.
Garcia had also been linked to joining streaming platform DAZN for his next fight but the above suggests that he’ll still be a Showtime fighter for the time being.
At least for now.
