World Champion Zolani Tete Joins Forces With Floyd Mayweather Sr

Floyd Mayweather Senior Makes Odd Claim Following Wilder vs Ortiz 2

Floyd Mayweather senior, father of renowned boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr has largely not had any big name fighters outside of his son in recent years – but he’s now back training a world champion.

WBO bantamweight world champion Zolani Tete from South Africa notched up another win this past weekend in the second season of the World Boxing Super Series.

He recorded a unanimous points decision win over Mikhail Aloyan in Russia to take his professional record to 28-3 (21KO).

Mayweather senior is also currently training Andre Tabiti whom also is in the WBSS in a separate weight class.

Mayweather senior is now 65 years of age but regularly appears in videos from the Mayweather Boxing Gym in Las Vegas showing off his speed with his hands and on holding the pads.

Technically this will no doubt improve Tete’s game from a defensive standpoint which is probably exactly what he needs.

A smart move by both parties.
