40 Years Old But Same Old Money May – What Pacquiao 2 Announcement Proved

This past weekend on the day of Golovkin vs Canelo 2 Floyd Mayweather took it upon himself to announce to the world he is coming back to take on his old rival in Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2.

He said it will be for a nine figure pay-day and this year.

Later in another video saying this coming December.

The boxing world lashed out at the news but many people who don’t even watch boxing also took notice.

Nearly 4.5 million views on Instagram later of his post, just two days on, that in itself shows that there is certainly still interest in a Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2.

Perhaps not from purist boxing fans but from a large number of people nonetheless.

Mayweather and Pacquiao are international brands now outside of just boxing.

People from all over the world take notice of them.

Mayweather for his huge star name made in sports and perpetuated by his glitz and glamour lifestyle.

Pacquiao for his legendary status in boxing, his home country and his work in politics.

Both guys are salesmen at the end of the day and I’d be shocked if the fight didn’t crack at least a million pay per views in the US.

Probably closer to two million.

Sure, that’s nowhere near as big as their first fight in 2015, but it will be enough money for these two to entice them back in the ring.

Years outside of their prime.
