Gennady Golovkin trainer Abel Sanchez lashed out at a reporter for making a statement he disagreed with ahead of his charge’s rematch with Canelo Alvarez this weekend.
In recent weeks there has been some debate between different groups of fans about how Canelo chose to fight last time out against Golovkin.
Some have called the tactics he used ‘running’ whereas others have referred to it as clever boxing.
It’s a question of taste more than anything perhaps.
Some fans like to see slug fests. Toe to toe brawls.
While others appreciate the more artful sweet science in boxing and enjoy the more technical aspects of the sport.
Golovkin and his coach Abel Sanchez believe Canelo ran in the first fight and have not been shy about expressing that opinion since.
One reporter in the final press conference disagreed with this notion however and prompted somewhat of a snap from Sanchez.
Here’s the moment it happened as captured by the folks at Fight Hub (hat tip):
What do you think? Did Canelo run in the first fight?
Will he look to box and move exclusively on Saturday?
