It is unclear what is going on at the moment at Mayweather Promotions between head honcho Floyd Mayweather and his leading fighter Gervonta Davis after ‘Tank’ took shots on Twitter at his promoter earlier this week.
Davis made it clear in different tweets his current state of unhappiness with Mayweather and in one instance, mentioned how Mayweather has released ‘100 fighters’.
Insinuating he wants to be released too.
But for now, he is still a Mayweather promoted fighter and by all accounts is still in line to face Abner Mares before the end of the year.
That said, promoter Eddie Hearn has told EsNews that he’d love to make an offer to Mayweather Promotions for Davis to take on his fighter Tevin Farmer:
“He’s (Davis) got a promotional contract with Mayweather. I don’t interfere with contracts. I made Mayweather Promotions a big offer to work with DAZN. They declined, I understand, but now we have Tevin Farmer. So when Tevin Farmer fights James Tennyson, if he’s triumphant in that fight, I will be making Gervonta Davis a huge offer to fight Tevin Farmer. Lets see if he accepts it.”
Certainly a quality fight if it can be made down the line.
