Pacquiao Not Looking To Fight In The US Next

Manny Pacquiao is currently weighing up a number of offers but reports recently that he could be signing with Eddie Hearn’s new partnership with streaming giant DAZN in the US now seem very unlikely.

Pacquiao is looking to box outside of the US again in his next bout according to multiple reports.

His last fight took place in Malaysia on a Sunday morning local time and his next fight is thought to be something similar with a date of December 2nd.

Promoter Eddie Hearn had mentioned recently he was very interested in signing Pacquiao but told Tha Boxing Voice:

“It never happened in their prime so why is it going to happen now?”

He continued:

“Yeah, we can look at Pacquiao but the money that he’s asked for… I get the feeling that’s the main thing (that he wants to fight outside the US). It’s difficult for us to come up with the bucks from DAZN if the fight is not in the US. They want American fight nights.”

There you have it, money and location being the two main barriers by the looks of things.

So if Pacquiao is looking to exclusively outside of the US from a promotional rights sense, likely he will just look for a promoter to distribute his fight in America again like he did with Top Rank and ESPN last time out for the Lucas Matthysse fight.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he did something similar again on December 2nd.
