Golovkin vs Jacobs Purse – Plus Roman Gonzalez Fight Purse

The Golovkin vs Jacobs purse figures are out ahead of tomorrow’s showdown in Madison Square Garden in New York.

The fight will be regulated by the New York State Athletic Commission and as per the contracted purses that are declared to the commission, here they are:

  • Gennady Golovkin: $2.5 million
  • Daniel Jacobs: $1.75 million
  • Roman Gonzalez: $550,000
  • Sor Rungvisai: $75,000

Quite the chunk of change for the Golovkin vs Jacobs purse above.

Two world champions who well deserve such pay days and no doubt they will make more than that when all tallies are in.

The above are just the contracted purses. They don’t take into account other revenue generating incomes for the event that include pay per view, sponsorship, merchandising and international TV rights.

These would be agreed upon by both respective teams privately in arranging the bout in terms of how they are to be distributed.

When everything is in, the two main event fighter (GGG and Jacobs) should make a healthy bit more than the above figures.

The jump from their purses to Rungvisai’s though is quite the gap when you look at it. But the Thai knows if he were to win and pull of an upset that big pay days would be on the way for him.

One would imagine if Golovkin were to win, and win in style this weekend, that the big Canelo fight next September will bring about a guaranteed purse in the region of at least five to seven times that the value of above number.
