Watch: The Moment Manny Pacquiao Knocked Out Matthysse

Manny Pacquiao rolled back the years this weekend with a classic victory over Argentinian knockout artist Lucas Matthysse.

Pivotal to the win proved to be the left uppercut for Pacquiao.

His ability to find the target and get in and out of range with the shot was a joy to watch at times.

Often in the fight he’d throw a light shot to the body of Matthysse, to lull him into a false sense of security, then throw his inverted left uppercut from unorthodox angles to leave a bamboozled Matthysse hurt to the sole his boots.

Here’s the moment that the show was closed this weekend:

A beautiful finish set up from a genius at work, really.

Despite being 39 years of age and even despite his speed and power still been relatively impressive last night(for his age), I was most impressed with his boxing skill being so on point.

His footwork, shot variation and boxing brain that he’s developed over the years give him something invaluable at this stage of his career. Something that money can’t buy.

Experience.

This experience and still very strong skill set is more than enough to give plenty of welterweights out there problems and should land him one last big fight before retirement one suspects.
