Manny Pacquiao Reacts To First Knockout Win Since 2009

Manny Pacquiao looked like the Manny of old in spurts this weekend against Lucas Matthysse and proved that while he might be out of his prime, that old power is still there.

The last time Pacquiao had stopped someone in the professional boxing ring was against Puerto Rican boxing great Miguel Cotto back in 2009.

Nine years is a long time and for the life of me, I didn’t think Pacquiao had the ability to stop Matthysse this weekend.

But credit to him, styles make fights and the matchmaking was spot on.

Matthysse came straight at him and was tailored made for Pacquiao.

Speaking straight after the fight Pacquiao posted a picture of himself and his wife and said the following of the victory:

“To God be the glory! Thank you to my wife, my kids, and all of my family. Thank you to #TeamPacquiao for all your hard work! Thank you to my fellow Filipinos and to all my fans around the world! This is all our victory. God bless everyone.”

Another thing that was very clear besides Pacquiao’s power still being there was the adoration of his fans still being there.

The internet went really wild after his win last night, even after a frustrating delay to the beginning of the fight for fans.
