Tony Bellew’s promoter Eddie Hearn is looking at a couple of options as it relates what to do with the Liverpool heavyweight next.
Bellew is fresh off the back of another stoppage win over former cruiserweight and heavyweight champion David Haye.
So essentially he has the world at his feet at the moment.
If he chooses to box on there is plenty of big names out there but if he wants the biggest fight possible, it’s the heavyweight division he needs to stay in.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, his promoter Eddie Hearn said:
“Over here, we are thinking about what next for Tony Bellew. He has emerged as a real stand-out star of British boxing in the last few years.”
He went on to say:
“The lure of a legacy fight with for pound-for-pound No 1 Andre Ward is tempting, as is another fight at heavyweight against Tyson Fury.”
While the Ward fight would be an intriguing bout, for sure, there’s no denying that the far bigger fight that would easily sell out a stadium in the UK is the Fury bonanza.
And the more entertaining one to watch too, action-wise.
Fury returns to the ring on June 9th but him and Bellew have been more than vocal in the media with one another recently.
Leading to speculation that a bout could be next by the end of the summer or early Autumn between the two.
