Some rather remarkable news has broken in the boxing world today pertaining to a fight with Anthony Joshua that took place not recently, not last year, no, two years ago no less.
The sport of boxing has had a number of high profile doping busts in recent times which is a worrying trend indeed.
The latest has come today in the form of 36 year old American heavyweight Eric Molina who has been reported to have tested positive for the banned substance dexamethasone before his fight with Joshua in 2016.
Joshua won the fight inside the distance in conclusive fashion at the time.
While the substance is not a performance enhancing substance and is permitted out of competition, it is not allowed during competition as it is thought to give endurance athletes an unfair advantage.
Particularly at altitude.
Molina was given a two years ban today by UKAD (United Kingdom Anti-Doping) as the fight took place in the UK and was under their authority.
Perhaps what is more bizarre than anything about this though is that we are only hearing about it now.
Nearly two years on from the fight.
The fight originally took place in December of 2016 and resulted in a third round stoppage win for Joshua at the Manchester Arena.
