Gennady Golovkin cleverly takes a shot at the controversial Canelo Alvarez decision last summer where the fight ended in a draw- despite most thinking ‘GGG’ won the contest.
Well with May 5th approaching Golovkin won’t have a chance to put the record straight or give fans the rematch that they so desperately wanted unfortunately.
Due to Canelo pulling out of the fight following a failed doping test as he awaits a result of a hearing this week with the NSAC.
But there is still a scramble on to get some sort of opponent for Golovkin on May 5th in California.
Although with time running out it is looking less and less likely.
Mainly because HBO shelved the event from pay per view to a regular broadcast meaning there is not as much money to offer prospective opponents now.
At any rate, Golovkin and his team have not passed up the opportunity to undertake in some clever promotion ahead of the potential date.

For those wanting to see the Golovkin vs Canelo rematch you might have to wait a while.
Particularly if Canelo receives a suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
