David Price Opens Up About Horrific Injury Following Potevkin KO

Liverpool heavyweight David Price suffered a knockout defeat at the hands of Alexander Povetkin last weekend but won the respect of many fight fans after going out on his shield and putting on an exciting display.

The knockout in the end was a potent one that badly busted Price up in the process of rendering him out cold for the count.

Price has now revealed to Talk Sport that the punch caused an injury to his face that needed an incredible 42 stitches in hospital to close up.

Brutal stuff.

On the exact nature of what the stitches were for and where they were placed Price told Talk Sport:

“I had a fractured nose, had 30 stitches in my mouth and about 12 stitches on my eyes.”

It’s safe to say that Price will not be near a boxing ring for a while.

Pr sparring for that matter.

After a career that has had a number of violent knockout losses in it – it’s hard to see if Price can come back in terms of making a charge at the top-level of the heavyweight division again.

Whatever he chooses to do we wish him nothing but the best for the future.
