Vasyl Lomachenko vs Jorge Linares was in the works for a number of weeks but now the good news has been officially confirmed by the American promoters of the event.
The fight will see a coming together of two of the sport of boxing’s genuine maestros in the lower divisions.
Ukraine native Vasyl Lomachenko overcame his biggest test on paper to date last time out by dismantling Cuban boxing legend Guillermo Rigondeaux inside the distance.
The fight between Lomachenko and Linares will take place on May 12th at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York.

The fight will be for the WBA world lightweight title currently held by Linares.
Linares comes into the bout in a hot run of form himself, thirteen straight victories on the bounce no less since his last defeat to Sergio Thompson all the way back in 2012.

Lomachenko with a record of 10-1-8KO in his professional tenure to date.
