This St Patrick’s Day weekend standout Irish prospect Mick Conlan returns to action a year on in the same place he made his pro debut – Madison Square Garden.
He was walked out that night by bone other than Conor McGregor at the iconic venue.
He went on to win by TKO and since then, he’s gone 5-0-4KO in the pro ranks, making steady progress bit by bit.
He’s hooked up with new twiner Adam Booth in that time and tonight will fight for the first time under his stewardship.
Speaking on American television, Conlan took a moment to reflect on his pro debut this time twelve months ago:
“I walked into the arena and the hairs were standing up all over my body. To be part of all the names that have fought here, Ali, Leonard all these guys, it’s just different. It’s not like fighting in some random arena, your fighting in Madison Square Garden in New York, which is probably the best city in the world.”
Tonight Conlan faces David Berna live on ESPN.
The Irishman has predicted that the fight will not go more than four rounds.
