A former opponent of Canelo and world champion has voiced his anger following the news that Canelo Alvarez tested positive for a banned substance ahead of his rematch with Gennady Golovkin on May 5th at the T-Mobile Arena.
Liverpool’s Liam Smith surrendered his WBO super-welterweight title to Canelo back in 2016 following a knockout defeat in Texas.
Smith gave an excellent account of himself at the time in a bout that was action packed for as long as it went.
However now that Smith has heard the news about Canelo failing a drugs test, he wants the loss overturned:
I want my loss overturned, I should still be champion ?

Liam Smith has a professional boxing record of 26-1-1-14KO.
