Deontay Wilder’s promoter Lou Di Bella is not happy with Eddie Hearn as the Wilder vs Joshua fight is attempted to be made for later this year.
It’s a match that the world is already calling for and one that if Anthony Joshua gets passed his next fight against Joseph Parker on March 31st, one that should surely happen.
But that’s the thing about boxing. Nothing is ever quite so sure, or what it seems.
Ultimately if both parties want the fight to be made, it will happen.
Social media snipes between the parties involved in trying to make the fight have been ongoing for months now, with a last official meeting between the promoters having taken place well before last Christmas at this stage.
Obviously Joshua has to stay focused on what’s in front of him first for the time being.
WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker on March 31st.
But his promoter and the man behind the scenes in charge of the strategy of his career, Eddie Hearn, doesn’t seem overly enthusiastic about making the fight next up after that against Wilder.
Speaking after Deontay Wilder’s huge win at the weekend against Luis Ortiz, his promoter Lou Di Bella told the world at the press conference that:
“The fight will happen because the world will demand it. I don’t think it will be like Pacquiao and Mayweather where it takes years (to make).”
He went on to mention:
“I don’t see him (Eddie Hearn) talking about Deontay Wilder, except to down Deontay Wilder. S*** on me, s*** on Deontay’s whole camp. Particularly been disrespectful to the champ. If he’s doing all that kind of stuff, than you wouldn’t necessarily think someone would do if they want to make the big fight next. So I’ll believe he wants to make it when I stop reading his comments on social media.”
Wilder recorded a 10th round stoppage win this past weekend at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
