Ex Tyson Fury coach Peter Fury knows a thing or two about heavyweight boxing having trained not just Tyson Fury to beat Klitschko, but also nearly his son Hughie to win the WBO title last year from Joseph Parker.
Peter Fury is almost a specialist when it comes to heavyweight boxing due to the large number of big men he trains in his Bolton-based gym in the UK.
Like many last night, he was impressed with Wilder and offered this spot on post-fight take on what he saw:
@BronzeBomber every fight you learn from. Good win against awkward very live opponent. Also true ‘no one else wanted the Cuban. Credit due.

A lot has to be said for Wilder stepping up to take on the tricky Ortiz at this stage of the game.
Particularly for the smaller prize on offer compared to what would have been on offer for waiting for a fight with Joshua or Fury.
Wilder could have easily taken a straight forward defence and waited around for Joshua in the summer.
But he didn’t.
Credit where credit is due, indeed.
Now it’s on to the unification fights later in the year – at least boxing fans will be hoping.
