Anthony Joshua promoter Eddie Hearn has responded to a remark made by WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder who’s accused Hearn of milking his cash cow – Anthony Joshua.
The Joshua vs Wilder fight is the one that many want to see later this year.
It can only happen if Wilder wins his fight this weekend against Luis Ortiz however – and Joshua beats Joseph Parker in their unification fight on March 31st.
Speaking to FightHype.com on comments that Wilder said promoter Hearn is milking the Joshua cow, Hearn reacted by saying:
“When they say I’m milking the cow? Let me tell you what they’re doing to him? Flogging the horse! He’s like a puppet. Deontay go over there. Do that show. Do that work out. Because he doesn’t have a promoter he’s having to do everything himself.”
He continued:
“If Deontay Wilder is earning ten-times less than Anthony Joshua per fight, I suggest we do some good old fashion milking. Because someone isn’t getting what he needs.”
He also had a warning for Wilder this weekend against Ortiz:
“Don’t lose now. This is your pay-day Deontay! Don’t mess it up.”
Wilder takes on Ortiz this weekend at the Barclays Center live on Showtime with the bout expected to start at approximately 10pm ET locally in Las Vegas.
7pm PT on the West coast approx.
