Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter were part of a number of well-known fighters in attendance this weekend in Las Vegas and the two had a bit of a run in with one another.
Both guys are managed by Al Haymon so in theory it should not be a hard fight to make again.
Porter has been building up a lot of momentum in recent years since losing to Thurman, working hard in the gym, delivering in the ring against Andre Berto and Adrian Granados – and steadily growing his fan base.
Thurman is at a high in his career as world champion after defeating Danny Garcia last year. Since then he’s taken a little time off, got married and done some travelling.
Now however he’s back in the market for a big fight. Shawn Porter wants it to be him.
An interesting moment between the two was caught on camera backstage by ES News YouTube (hat tip) as Porter confronted Thurman face to face:
Certainly a very solid fight style-wise if it can be made. Both welterweights have big punches and love to come forward.
A fight that could surely only result in entertainment for the fans.
The pair have fought once before when Thurman outpointed Porter a couple of years back by UD in 2016 at the Barclays Center in New York.
