Devon Alexander and Victor Ortiz battled it out to a draw this weekend in El Paso, Texas as part of a Premier Boxing Champions event.
Devon Alexander might have understandably felt hard done by this weekend as he for the most part controlled the fight and out boxed Victor Ortiz who surprisingly looked to box him early on.
Coming into the bout it was thought Ortiz would be the puncher of the two and look to press the action but it wasn’t the case early doors.
Alexander boxed quite slickly and out landed him in their welterweight bout on Fox, on the whole.
Alexander took five of the first six rounds on two of the ringside judges’ scorecards but Ortiz came back at him in the second fight and in the eyes of the judges, this pressure gave him the draw with Alexander in the end.
Two former world champions who were battling it out for a shot back to the big time will perhaps both felt a little dejected after a draw and potentially will look to rematch one another to find a definitive winner.
In case you missed the fight the folks at PBC YouTube (hat tip) have brought out the key moments of what happened in what was an overall a solid fight to watch:
