Everyone man and his dog is talking about the Mayweather vs McGregor proposed MMA fight to happen this year, but most in the boxing world are not buying it.
One such figure in the sweet science that is seeing it for what it is – is Chris Eubank Jr.
Eubank Jr fights George Groves in the semi-final of the World Boxing Super Series next week but like everyone, has not been able to avoid the Mayweather-McGregor hype show online, once again.
Speaking to FightHype.com, Eubank Jr said:
“Listen, Floyd loves stirring the pot, man. Anything to get people talking, he loves it. Of course eventually he was going to do a little teaser for MMA. I can’t imagine (him fighting) in the sport of MMA. He’s an even older man (40). It’s hard for me to see.”
Some common sense there, surely.
Mayweather has no formal training in mixed martial arts and the sport isn’t exactly like WWE – where outcomes are pre-determined.
McGregor would likely not hold back which would put Mayweather in huge danger and at considerable risk, something he’s traditionally never exposed himself to.
