Joseph Parker Makes His Call On Haye vs Bellew Rematch

Heavyweight boxing is really rocking and rolling at the moment with all the world title action and interesting fights elsewhere in the division outside of the title fights.

One such bout is of course the rematch showdown between David Haye and Tony Bellew this May which will offer the winner a possible route at a world title fight later in the year or early next year.

Since upsetting the apple cart and shocking the world by winning the first fight inside the distance, Liverpool’s Tony Bellew has positioned himself in line for a number of opportunities including a possible showdown with one Joseph Parker in the future.

Indeed, Parker’s promoter and team did in fact meet Bellew at one point last year with an apparent difference of opinions occurring between Bellew and Parker’s promoter David Higgins at the time.

Higgins has spoken openly in recent times about how he believes his man easily beats Bellew.

Speaking to FightHype.com on who he thinks wins the rematch between Haye and Bellew – Joseph Parker said:

“I think Haye, but again, Bellew knows his style and can work on a few things.”

He concluded however:

“I pick Haye.”

While Haye starts as a slight favourite going into the rematch it will be nothing near like the favourite status he was before the first fight.

People know Bellew is more than a live dog in the fight and proved as much – beyond shadow of a doubt last time out.

Parker for his part takes on Anthony Joshua next up in a world heavyweight unification on March 31st at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
