News has emerged that the Filipino boxing icon and the Ukraine boxing phenom could very well have a showdown later in the year.
The bout if it were to happen would likely have to see Pacquiao dropping down in weight a bit compared to welterweight that he’s been campaigning at in recent times.
I can’t see how Lomachenko could move all the way up to 147lbs at this stage. Or if he could would he want to.
Pacquiao’s career is not where it once was after losing his WBO title to Australian Jeff Horn last year and now Lomachenko is the new force in the sport.
ABS-CBN News have reported that the fight could very well be in play for April 21st.
The same night of Amir Khan’s return. Carl Frampton and Nonito Donaire will also box that night.
Lomachenko has looked virtually unbeatable in his pro career.
His last fight with Guillermo Rigondeaux, a bout he won easily, saw him climb to the top of the pound rankings in many people’s eyes.
Pacquiao would have perhaps a bit of a power advantage and natural strength edge though given the fact he’s campaigned at a higher weight than Lomachenko.
A good fight if it can be made. Both men share the same promoter so likely it could be made relatively easily.
