The Katie Taylor Irish homecoming fight as a pro looks set to be all lined up following an incredibly fast start to her professional tenure in boxing that has seen her become a world champion in less than a year.
She’s raced to 8-0 in no time and 2018 promises to be a year where Taylor can really put women’s boxing on the map internationally, if she continues to fight as regularly as she has been, and as impressively.
The promotion part will look after itself with her team. No doubt later in the year the millions of Irish Americans Stateside will get to watch her sweet science skills.
But next up looks to be a return to her native Ireland where it has been reported that she will box at the O2 Arena in Dublin on April 14th.
An opponent is to be confirmed for the WBA lightweight title bout.
Taylor was pushed hard in her last fight against teak tough American Jessica McCaskill. Making Taylor work harder than any of her other fights in the pro ranks thus far.
Plenty will have been learned from the bout and it will be interesting to see how much Taylor has improved by the time of her next fight.
The feeling overall is that the Katie Taylor star in world boxing is set to shine bright this year.
