Marquez Reveals Crazy Offer To Fight Pacquiao A 5th Time

Juan Manuel Marquez reveals crazy offer that he and his team received to step back in there with Manny Pacquiao for a fifth time.

Both Marquez and Pacquiao will forever go down in boxing history for their legendary wars they shared in the ring.

Perhaps the most memorable will be the final occasion, where Juan Manuel Marquez knocked Manny Pacquiao out cold with one of the most devastating right hands of the modern era:

Roy Jones on HBO commentary that night clearly heard saying:

“He’s not getting up Jim (Lampely)! He’s not getting up!”

No doubt that it sits among the proudest moments ever for Mexican boxing great Marque. As part of a stellar career in the sweet science overall that he had.

It turns out that it was so dear to him however that he turned down a gargantuan sum of cash to step in their for a fight time with the “Pacman”.

Speaking to ESPN Deportes he said:

“There was an offer for a fifth fight against Pacquiao in the Philippines for $100 million dollars, and I refused in order to keep my honor and the glory of the fourth fight from 2012.”

Marquez is now retired and by all accounts Pacquiao is seeking one final fight in the sport of boxing in 2018.
