Conor Benn refreshingly honest following what was the biggest scare of his professional boxing career to date.
The 21-year-old puncher from the UK showed plenty of cojones last night in what was an out-and-out brawl at times.
A fight that no doubt will have won over a few new fans for him. Speaking after the bout, Benn said:
“I can’t remember what happened. A massive learning experience. I’l come back from it and learn from it. The only thing I showed in that fight was heart. I don’t know what happened tonight. It’s one of those things. You come and you bounce back stronger. When I done my jaw I came back better. I’ll learn from this. I’m only 21 years old.”
He went on:
“After my second fight with Luke Kelleher I was I state. I was an absolute mess. I went to the dressing room after and cried. But you know what, I came back better. It’s only learning.”
Fight to fight he is showing certain improvements. Particularly with his jab when he decides to use it – is a bit of a weapon itself – not just a range finder and a useful tool in its own right.
