The Moment Luis Ortiz Knocked Out Martz To Set Up Wilder Fight

Luis Ortiz knocked out opponent Martz in Florida to set up a long-awaited showdown with Deontay Wilder in 2018.

Cuban Luis Ortiz closed the show in brutal fashion this past Friday to set up a fight with WBC champion Wilder in the new year, who after the fight got in the ring and mentioned he accepted a fight with him for next year.

This comes after the two were recently due to fight one another but due to a failed drug test the fight didn’t materialize.

Ortiz has always been seen as one of the most avoided fighters in the heavyweight division and put his skills on display last night in devastating fashion.

He dropped his opponent to his knees in the very first round but the big finish came in the second round via a straight left hand bomb that rendered Daniel Martz out cold, face first.

Here’s how he did it via the PBC YouTube channel (hat tip):

It was Ortiz’ 24th knockout out of his 28 wins as a professional to date and continues his undefeated record in boxing.

After the bout Deontay Wilder told Ortiz that:

“I’m coming to whoop your a**!”

It is thought the fight will happen in early 2018, likely in March at some point.
