This Miguel Cotto defeat came as a big surprise in what was meant to be a successful final appearance in the ring.
Sadam Ali tore up the script this weekend to capture the WBO 154lbs title from Puerto Rican boxing great Miguel Cotto.
He did so via a unanimous points decision at Madison Square Garden in New York.
But Cotto can go out full of class, giving fans a fun fight in what proved to be the final time we’ll see him in the ring as an active fighter.
Following the bout, here’s some of what boxing fans thought of the surprise Miguel Cotto defeat last night:

I thought in the 8th round Cotto hurt his hand. It turned out to be Cotto bicep. Hat’s off to Ali…it was a good fight…but this fight don’t define Cotto career as a Champion. I would like to thank Hall of Fame Champion Miguel Cotto for a great career. SALUTE CHAMP!
