Retired Floyd Mayweather has taken the opportunity to address a recent Amir Khan call out, despite the American being retired from boxing.
A retired Floyd Mayweather seems to still be getting called out from fighters – despite after his last bout against Conor McGregor being promised by him to have been his last of his career.
Amir Khan and Mayweather were linked with one another a few years back regarding a potential fight but despite Khan chasing the fight for what seemed to be an eternity, it never happened.
Mayweather instead had two back to back fights with Argentinian fighter Marcos Maidana at the time.
But Khan never fully let go of the fight.
Recently before going onto a reality TV show, he brought up the subject of a possible Mayweather fight in the media again.
Following watching Khan on “I’m A Celeb” TV show, speaking to the Daily Star – Mayweather said of the remarks:
“He (Khan) wants to fight the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world and now I hear is running away from a few snakes and spiders. Please! He needs to get real and stick with TV.”
Mayweather currently has a record of 50-0 and has insisted that he is finished in the sport of boxing.
Khan has said that he will return to the sport for the first time next year since May of 2016, when he was defeated by KO by Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas.
