WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker is offering Anthony Joshua fans a handsome some of money if they can prove something to them.
The ante has been upped from the usually quite and reserved Joseph Parker who is now well aware that he needs to start talking if he’s to land the heavyweight unification title fight with Anthony Joshua.
In many ways Anthony Joshua is the lottery ticket of the heavyweight division in modern boxing.
A fight with him can set a boxer up for life. Such is the global draw of Joshua now.
After his last fight with Carlos Takam Joshua intimated his desire to unify the division in 2018 and if he wants to do that, he’ll need WBO belt holder Joseph Parker at some stage.
In a press conference team Parker highlighted Joshua’s chin as his main weakness in their view, and highlighted the times he has been dropped with a video during the presser.
Parker’s promoter then issued a message to Anthony Joshua fans, making them an offer:
“So our second offer of today is to all Anthony Joshua fans anywhere in the world. If you can send us proof that Joseph Parker has ever been dropped and be the first to do so – we’ll send you a cheque ten thousand British pounds.”
At which point Parker himself stepped in and said:
“I’ll match that and put up ten thousand British pounds myself.”
To which his promoter concluded:
“So that’s twenty-thousand British pounds (in total) for any Joshua fan who can show that Parker has been dropped.”
