Former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury reacts to Anthony Joshua’s unexpected language towards him on social media.
It’s all kicking off in heavyweight boxing today between the champions and top names all calling each other out in different ways on social media.
The modern day boxing landscape in a nutshell, essentially.
Fans no longer have to wait long to hear what a fighter’s opinion is on a certain fight. They can just hear it straight from the horses mouth directly, as it were.
This morning Anthony Joshua broke character slightly by calling Fury a “fat f***” and you just knew that it was only a matter of time before Fury would have his rebuttal.
Well, here it is courtesy of his Instagram account:
“I could punch all your face right in for ya, even at 25 stone.”
Trash talk between the two at least is not going just one way now. With Joshua willing to get down and dirty with Fury in this regard.
It will be interesting to see if this new found heel-type social media activity will be a prolonged action from Joshua, and a move to more consistently engage back with boxers online in a way how he really feels.
Could Anthony Joshua the good guy pull a Floyd Mayweather-type persona shift (from Pretty Boy to Money Mayweather) and become a heel / bad guy character?
Stranger things have happened in this funny old game, that’s for sure.
Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor showed the bad guy image certainly sells in combat sports, if nothing else.
