Promoter Kalle Sauerland reacts to Deontay Wilder winning in emphatic fashion to retain his world heavyweight title.
Kalle Sauerland has been playing a blinder on Twitter recently with his candid and self-reflected humour to fight fans across the pugilistic internet sphere.
He doesn’t take himself too seriously, obviously, but when it comes to his boxing he most certainly takes things in a different manner.
An interested spectator only at the weekend with no current heavyweight fighters signed to his promotional outfit Sauerland Promotions, Sauerland have his assessment of what he saw from Wilder and the overall heavyweight landscape:
“HW Summary: Wilder was very good. Stiverne was very bad. Wilder v Joshua is a very, very good Fight. Winner to fight Fury.”
Indeed, some of those fighters are on everyone’s mind right now in boxing in terms of fights fans want to see.
The trio of Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua in particular is now well and truly starting to form in this new heavyweight era.
Fights against one another over the coming years simply have to happen for the good of the sport.
Add in some more names like Joseph Parker, Hughie Fury and a few others and you could almost have a round-robin format for the heavyweights.
Hang on, what about the new World Boxing Super Series format (co-founded by Sauerland) that does just that?
Over to you Kalle Sauerland.
