Newly crowned world champion Katie Taylor has big plans next up as her promoted outlined today in Ireland.
Co. Wicklow’s Katie Taylor won’t have long to bask in glory from her world title win last weekend as she is due to return to training in the US only next week ahead of a December outing in the UK.
She did manage to fit in a press conference today however in Dublin, Ireland with her promoter Eddie Hearn who outlined some big plans for her future career:
“It doesn’t feel like we’ve even scratched the surface. Saturday night was just the start, just the spring board to these huge championship fights, unification fights. In Ireland, in England and also in America, as well. I think this is going to be a great journey over the next few years.”
“She’s genuinely getting the recognition worldwide. She’s always had support from you guys and from Ireland. To see her get the support all over the world is great. I think she’s really going to break even more boundaries in her career so far and start become a headline act in her own right in the sport of boxing.”
He confirmed that Taylor will headline a show in England this December and will likely have a fight in Dublin in either February or March of 2018.
