Welterweight prospect Josh Kelly’s latest win has got people talking about the exciting Sunderland young fighter.
Josh Kelly’s latest win might have been stopped a bit prematurely by the referee, but that didn’t take away from the excellent overall performance that showed poise, head movement and control from start to finish.
The win tonight in Belfast improved his record to 4-0 (3KO).
Trained by respected UK coach Adam Booth, Kelly was humble in his post-fight interview and mentioned how he has learned a lot from fellow stablemate and world champion Ryan Burnett.
Promoter Eddie Hearn said afterwards that Kelly will fight again in December on the David Haye vs Tony Bellew rematch card on December 17th, as well as mentioning:
“This boy is going all the way.”
When his coach Adam Booth was questioned about how far he can go, Booth replied:
“World champion. He has this unique ability at a level that I have not seen before.”
Those who watched him tonight echoed similar praises on a 23 year old who looks to have buckets of potential over the coming years:
