Conor McGregor Not Happy With How Mayweather Fight Was Refereed

Irish UFC star Conor McGregor not pleased with how the fight went and has revealed his true feelings now that the dust has settled.

The fight has been over a month now but only this past weekend has McGregor been speaking in public about it now that he’s had time to think about the whole event.

At the time McGregor started well in the bout in the opening rounds, but ultimately was stopped by Mayweather as soon as the American stepped up his effort.

What We Learned From Mayweather vs McGregor

The 40 year old Mayweather adopted a style not usually known for him in the bout – in that he marched forward and pressed the action with a high guard.

Ultimately, he landed a number of unanswered straight right hands which caused the fight to be stopped by the referee, as he gradually broke McGregor down throughout the bout.

The Irishman is not happy however now that he’s had time to reflect. Speaking at a public event in Scotland, McGregor told fans that:

‘How the f*** can you stop it like that at the first sign of a wobble? You’ve got to let these fights go on. Every time we tied he literally wrestled me off him. It is what it is. I knew I wasn’t going to get a fair shake out there.”

The Irishman is not expected to fight in boxing next up with a mooted return to his usual sport of MMA in the UFC touted for his immediate future.
