Canelo vs McGregor did I hear you say? Well, according to some online reports this bizarre rumor has come out of left field it would seem.
Perhaps one of the best article headlines I came across recently on the internet was along the lines of:
“Conor McGregor Could Get Murdered By Canelo Alvarez Next”
That was posted by website Scrapdigest.com (hat tip) but upon inspection, it’s clear that this isn’t going to be happening anytime soon.
Indeed if it did happen, that headline in fact would be pretty accurate, to be fair though. The one sided nature of such a beating would be grotesque at best for McGregor.
No way on Earth would that fight ever happen in reality however.
Indeed, Eric Gomez of Golden Boy Promotions when speaking to a group of journalists in a media scrum shut these rumors down:
“Shut um down. Silly. Silly. No we want the tie breaker (Golovkin vs Canelo). Do you want to see McGregor or do you want the tie breaker? Who wants the tie breaker? Raise your hands. It’s unanimous.”
Canelo is thought to be already negotiating the Gennady Golovkin rematch for some time in 2018 at the moment, after a controversial ending to a great fight first time around recently.
