Josh Taylor vs Miguel Vasquez has been confirmed in a potentially cracking bout for later this year promoted by Cyclone Promotions.
It was well documented recently that Cyclone Promotions and Carl Frampton parted company but the promotional company have marched on relatively quickly from that with the exciting news that the Josh Taylor vs Miguel Vasquez fight with take place on November 11th in Edinburgh, Scotland.
From a bigger picture perspective, it’s also great to see for boxing as the bout will be shown on a terrestrial / free to air network in the UK in the form of Channel 5.
The more people able to view boxing the more the sport will grow, surely.
The fight itself is an intriguing one in that is pits possibly one of the most exciting prospects in world boxing in Josh Taylor against a highly respected former world champion in Miguel Vasquez.
Taylor’s WBC ‘Silver’ super-lightweight title will be on the line. A belt he won in his previous contest in the form of a sensational stoppage against British rival Ohara Davies.
30 year old former world champion Miguel Vasquez represents a serious test however. A step up in anything he’s faced to date.
Credit to him for taking such a fight at this stage of his career. Style-wise it should make for quiet the scrap. These are the exciting fights boxing needs.
