A very strange moment as one of the fight’s promoters gate crashed the Parker Fury press conference in a weird tirade.
The Parker Fury press conference today in London produced another one of boxing’s bizarre moments as WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker’s promoter David Higgins stormed the press conference.
Apparently drunk or looking for ’15 minutes of fame’ as his opposing promoter Mick Hennessy stated afterwards, according to Hennessy.
It came ahead of this Saturday night’s WBO world heavyweight title showdown between Joseph Parker and Hughie Fury which will be shown live on YouTube pay per view.
The odd moment at the Parker Fury press conference was caught here via IFL TV YouTube (hat tip):
As you can see, Fury’s father and trainer Peter Fury was in no mood for any nonsense ahead of fight night.
Certainly one of the more strange press conference antics seen in recent times in boxing with a fight promoter essentially crashing his own presser.
That’s boxing for you though. One of sport’s truly nutty businesses.
As for the fight itself this Saturday, it’s a great fight to be fair. Two young unbeaten heavyweights who have trained like Trojans with a world title on the line in Manchester.
A recipe for a real treat for boxing fans this weekend.
