The Deontay Wilder vs Luis Ortiz date, TV channel and venue have now all been pencilled in ahead of the WBC heavyweight title showdown.
The bout will be aired on Showtime TV in the US on November 4th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and will be promoted by DiBella Entertainment (New Yorker Lou Di Bella’s promotional company).
It sees a match up of two undefeated top level heavyweights and the toughest test of Wilder’s career to date.
Criticism has been levelled at the champion in the past for not taking on the best fighters available to him but massive respect to him for taking this fight with Ortiz.
A Cuban boxing maestro as avoided as any in the modern heavyweight landscape.
Should Wilder come through what will be a considerable test, it is thought that a unification showdown between him and Anthony Joshua is being currently worked on in the background for 2018.
Joshua of course has his own hands full next month when he defends his title against teak tough Bulgarian heavyweight and technically competent operator Kubrat Pulev.
Should both men keep winning however the inevitable super showdown in the heavyweight division continues to build for 2018.
