Chris Eubank is firing on all cylinders ahead of his first fight in the World Boxing Super Series where he defends his IBO title.
His next opponent Avni Yildirim was shouting out Turkish war cries at Eubank Jr during their pre-fight press conference ahead of their bout in Stuttgart, Germany on October 7th next month.
While Yildirim might not be known to many fight fans, his last win was a very good unanimous decision scalp over the respected Marco Antonio Periban earlier this year.
Eubank Jr comes into the fight in a rich vein of form and is being tipped to possibly win the tournament by many bookmakers.
Speaking to IFL TV on his next opponent, Eubank said:
“I told him, If you’re a Kalashnikov I’m a war ship fully equipped, gattling guns with heat seeking rocket launches. You want to talk about fire power – you ain’t got nothing on me. This guy is one dimensional. He’s got one aspect to his game. Come forward, he’s a come forward fighter. He doesn’t have the defense, he’s not fast. He maybe strong but I’ve fought strong fighters before. I know how to deal with them.”
Since suffering the sole defeat of his career to date to Billy Joe Saunders back in 2014 – Eubank Jr has won seven fights in a row with his pro record currently now standing at 25-1-19KO.
His next opponent’s record stands at 16-0-10KO.
