The heavyweight title fight between Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev on October 28th with TV channel and venue all confirmed.
An Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev October fight was known for sometime in recent weeks but an exact date and venue had not been officially confirmed by those staging the event.
This confirmation has come this morning from Anthony Joshua’s promoter Matchroom Sport who have confirmed that the Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev October 28th bout will take place at the Principlality Stadium (formerly called the Millennium Stadium) in Cardiff, Wales.
Joshua said of the announcement:
“I am excited to experience the atmosphere in a sold out Principality Stadium and aim to give the fans a spectacular night.”
Joshua was slated to face Wlaidimir Klitschko in a rematchm but following Klitschko’s retirement from the sport of boxing the Briton must now face his mandatory challenger in Kubrat Pulev instead.
The undercard and ticket arrangements for the event are expected to come later this week according to Matchroom.
While most likely the capacity for the fight will not reach 90,000 like it did for last April’s Wembley fight with Klitschko, it should still well hold over 75,000 (at least) come fight night.
The stadium is usually used for the sport of Rugby and is owned by the Welsh Rugby Union. The fight will be shown on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and Ireland and Showtime in the US.
