Heavyweight champion of the world Anthony Joshua releases video regarding his next bout which was officially confirmed today.
Joshua will take on Kubrat Pulev on October 28th at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff in another outdoor stadium heavyweight title bonanza.
Last time out Joshua recorded his biggest win with a stoppage of Wladimir Klitschko back in April in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley stadium.
Here he is speaking this morning – as Anthony Joshua releases video about his next fight on Instagram:
While it will be a fight Joshua will be favorite in and expected to win, Bulgarian Pulev is by no stretch of the imagination a push over fight.
For those who know of him and have followed boxing over the years, they’ll tell you he’s as game as the come and can fight as well many of the top heavyweights out there today – only ever losing to Wladimir Klitschko thus far in his pro career.
That stoppage defeat came back in November 2014 but since then Pulev has recorded five wins on the trot including scalps such as Dereck Chisora, Kevin Johnson and Samuel Peter.
This will mark Pulev’s first fight on British shores as a professional and it will be interesting to see how he copes with what will be a sizeable occasion, as is all of Joshua’s fights nowadays.
Joshua will put the IBF, IBO and WBA heavyweight titles on the line as he looks to continue his quest to unify the division next year.
The other current heavyweight title belt holders are Deontay Wilder (WBC) and Joseph Parker (WBO).
Joshua’s current professional boxing record stands at 19-0-19KO while Pulev has a current resume in pro boxing that stands at 25-1-13KO.
The fight is expected to be shown on Sky Box Office in the UK and Showtime in the US.
