Billy Joe Saunders vs Willie Monroe Jr Odds Relatively Close

The Billy Joe Saunders vs Willie Monroe Jr odds might surprise some in terms of just how competitive a fight the bookies are expecting.

While September 16th will play host to a mega fight in Las Vegas when Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez fight at long last – there’ll also be another middleweight world title fight taking place across the pond.

WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders will put his title on the line against former Golovkin opponent Willie Monroe Jr at the Copper Box Arena in London.

It will be Saunders’ second defence of his belt since winning it initially all the way back on December 19th, 2015 against Irishman Andy Lee.

No doubt the UK man will be keen to put injury and career frustration behind him.

He has a legitimate test standing in his way come September 16th first up however before he can think about the Golovkin vs Canelo winner in a potentially huge unification fight in 2018.

The bookies are giving Monroe Jr a decent chance in the bout upon inspection.

Here’s what the Billy Joe Saunders vs Willie Monroe Jr odds to win the fight outright are looking at the moment – just over two weeks out from fight night:

Both men like to box perhaps more than getting into a war so to speak, so it will be interesting to see what the odds on either will be come fight day for a win for either to get the nod on points in a fight likely to go the full twelve championship rounds  distance.
