Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua had a bit of an unusual take after the Mayweather vs McGregor fight this weekend in Las Vegas.
Floyd Mayweather is one of the very best boxers of this era. Even his most passionate detractors don’t begrudge him that.
Defensively, he’s up there was some of the very best of all time. Again, even a lot of his haters don’t hold that against him.
Mayweather has largely been credited (in boxing circles at least) for being a boxing genius over the last two decades or so since he’s been competing in the sport.
That’s why we were a bit lost as to Anthony Joshua’a reaction after his fight with McGregor:
I think Floyd Mayweather & Serena Williams do not get the credit they deserve~Legends in their respective sports…

I think it’s fair to say that Floyd Mayweather will go down as a legend in the sport of boxing, surely.
He beat every man put in front of him and has a resume that boasts scalps like Oscar De La Hoya, Shane Mosley, Manny Pacquiao, Ricky Hatton, Canelo Alvarez and many others.
He’s also taken the least amount of damage out of any world champion in boxing history – which he’s widely credited for in all fairness.
As regards Joshua, he is expected to defend his heavyweight titles next again against mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev.
Here’s a quick look back at his epic fight last time out with Wladimir Klitschko back in April:
