Mayweather Alleges McGregor Could Be Using Illegal Number Of IV’s

Floyd Mayweather alleges McGregor using up to 7 IV bags which potentially could be against the rules in a bid to re-hydrate.

Mayweather has been vocal this week that he thinks Conor McGregor will struggle to make the agreed weight for their fight of 154lbs.

McGregor has laughed this off however and has pointed to how easily he has made the lightweight 155lbs limit for his UFC contests in the past.

Now however, Mayweather has dropped a possible bombshell regarding a rumour he heard that McGregor is taking extreme measures to re-hydrate himself due to the weight cut.

Speaking to journalist Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting – Mayweahter said:

“I’ve been hearing a lot of thing s about him getting IV bags. I don’t know if it’s true I’m just saying – rumors. They say he got like 7 IV bags and you know with the Nevada commission that’s illegal, from what I was told. But once again I don’t know if it’s true. Allegedly.”

Asked on who told him, Mayweather replied:

“A strong source.”

The weigh in for the contest is set for a ticketed event this Friday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. There will be a final press conference later today for the undercard of the event.
