Shawn Porter father Kenny Porter reminds us that there are good people in the world and why the sport of boxing can produce some of the best.

The world today is probably more unstable than ever in history. Global uncertainty, terrorism, controversial Presidents and what have you.

We who work in the boxing world often refer to the ‘boxing bubble’ we can find ourselves living in sometimes, where things in the outside world often go over our head.

Just yesterday for example a family member was talking to me about a soccer match. I genuinely had no clue what he was speaking about.

From experience over the years working in boxing you sometimes meet some very good people in the sport. For me at least, fighter Shawn Porter falls into this category.

Calling into his gym one day both he, his father and team make everyone feel very welcome upon arriving there and it didn’t surprise me in the slightest to see this great moment today:

From a boxing perspective, Porter was forced off the upcoming Mayweather-McGregor undercard at the last minute due to a death in the family.

We hope to see ‘Showtime’ and his father Kenny back in the ring soon and wish them all the best.
